It&#8217;s that special time of year when the hustle and bustle of the holidays comes and lots of great foods are shared. My mouth is already watering thinking about a d\u2019lish turkey dinner with all the fixins\u2019 and holiday cocktails, but I won&#8217;t be having that as I will be in the Philippines opening the new Fairmont Hotel and am sure to be trying all kinds of new exciting dishes instead! So while everyone prepares for the upcoming festive season, take a gander of what I have been up to lately<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\" align=\"center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kathycasey.com\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/farm9.staticflickr.com\/8483\/8180339143_0e0aa38956_m.jpg\" alt=\"KC Logo\" width=\"240\" height=\"173\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>It\u2019s almost time for my \u201cOver 21\u201d Real Fruit Cakes made with Maker\u2019s Mark!<\/strong><br \/>\nStarting November 26<sup>th<\/sup> until December 14<sup>th<\/sup> (or while supplies last), my d\u2019lish <strong>\u201cOver 21\u201d Real Fruit Cakes<\/strong> will be available for purchase!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\" align=\"center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kathycasey.com\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/farm9.staticflickr.com\/8206\/8180374756_89b5ccbe3d_n.jpg\" alt=\"Fruit Cake\" width=\"289\" height=\"320\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Chock full of Maker\u2019s Mark-soaked dried fruits (like cranberries, apricots, and cherries) and toasted nuts (pistachios, hazelnuts, almonds and more) then bound together with a tasty spiced batter. Baked then brushed hot out of the oven with a brown sugar and bourbon glaze &#8211; Yum!<\/p>\n<p>These 1-pound loaves are priced at $10.95 and are will be able to purchase <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kathycasey.com\/\">online<\/a> and at my <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kathycasey.com\/driving_directions.html\">Food Studios<\/a> (open Monday \u2013 Friday, 9:00am \u2013 5:00pm).<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><strong>Holiday Extravaganza<\/strong><br \/>\nA lot of you have asked, \u201cWhen is the Holiday Extravaganza?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Because I am traveling so much, I have decided to take a year off from the festivities. The <a href=\"http:\/\/kathycasey.com\/driving_directions.html\">Food Studios<\/a> will be open to pop by and get signed cookbooks, <a href=\"http:\/\/kathycasey.com\/shop_seasonings.html\">Dish D\u2019Lish Seasonings<\/a>, preserves and our <a href=\"http:\/\/kathycasey.com\/shop_honey.html\">Liquid Kitchen<sup>TM<\/sup> &#8220;5130&#8221; Honey<\/a> and other specialty preserves, candies and more. But we just won&#8217;t have a big party\u2026 though we may open for a little open house and festive cheer \u2013 stay tuned.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Tasty Travels &amp; Fun Fundraisers<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Seattle Events!<\/strong><br \/>\nThis fall has been busy here in Seattle! I had a tasty time judging the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.luxesource.com\/luxe-magazine\">Luxe Interiors + Design Magazine<\/a>&#8216;s <strong>Battle of the Chefs<\/strong> event hosted at <a href=\"http:\/\/bradlee.net\/\">Bradlee Distributors<\/a> where six chef teams were pitted against each other in a 1-hour black box cook-off, all benefitting O Wines &#8220;Opportunity for Success Scholarship Program.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Then it was off to strut my stuff on the catwalk for the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rubyroomseattle.org\/\">Ruby Room<\/a>&#8216;s <strong>Annual Fashion Show<\/strong>, one of my favorite charities. This amazing group provides formal dresses for young ladies who need a little extra help with school dances. I got to model a very sparkly, very bling-bling <a href=\"http:\/\/www.etsy.com\/shop\/notyourmamasaprons\">Not Your Mama&#8217;s Apron<\/a> and did a little pre-show promotion on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.king5.com\/new-day-northwest\/Ruby-Room-Fashion-Show-172477671.html\">New Day Northwest<\/a>. This year&#8217;s event raised lots of funds for many young ladies to go out in style!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.king5.com\/new-day-northwest\/Ruby-Room-Fashion-Show-172477671.html\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/farm9.staticflickr.com\/8060\/8180373214_213a292f4b.jpg\" alt=\"Ruby Room Model\" width=\"419\" height=\"396\" \/><\/a><strong><br \/>\nModeling the Not Your Mama&#8217;s Apron on KING 5&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.king5.com\/new-day-northwest\/Ruby-Room-Fashion-Show-172477671.html\">New<br \/>\nDay Northwest<\/a>!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Cooking in the Flavor Mobile in Anaheim!<\/strong><br \/>\nJust this past month, my crew and I headed to Anaheim, California for the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.freshsummit.com\/\">PMA Fresh Summit conference<\/a><\/strong>. This annual conference brings together the leaders and buyers within the fresh produce industry as well as the taste makers and marketing professionals.<\/p>\n<p>We were there representing <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mastronardiproduce.com\/\">Sunset Produce<\/a>\u2026 and dished out some tasty samples in their new Flavor Mobile! The crowds loved our Chili &amp; Lime Slow-Cooked Pork Tacos with Sweet Twister Pepper Escabeche, Sunset Tomato Salsa and Avocado Crema as well as our Sunset Pepper<br \/>\nShrimp with Thai Coconut Curry with Jasmine Rice and Kumato Tomato Mint and Cilantro Salsa.
