I\u2019m not saying to forget making your faves, but just suggesting that this year, maybe try something new!<\/p>\n<p>Take for example, my <strong>Maple Scalloped Sweet Potatoes with Sage<\/strong>: sliced sweet potatoes, drizzled with maple syrup, cream, a touch of fresh sage, and topped with a few bread crumbs for texture. Great with turkey, ham, roast chicken or even in a baked yam! For a spiced version add a dash of cinnamon, or allspice.<\/p>\n<p>Makes about 3 cups<\/p>\n<p>2 Tbsp. ANGOSTORA\u00ae Aromatic Bitters<br \/>\n2 cups fresh cranberries (or frozen cranberries, defrosted)<br \/>\n1 orange, rinsed, ends cut off, and cut into chunks with rind<br \/>\n1 1\/2 cup diced fresh pineapple<br \/>\n1 Tbsp. minced fresh ginger<br \/>\n1\/2 cup pecan pieces, lightly toasted<br \/>\n1\/3 \u2013 1\/2 cup sugar depending on how sweet you like it (or substitute 1\/4 cup honey)<br \/>\n1\/4 tsp. chili flakes (optional)<br \/>\nPinch of salt<\/p>\n<p>Combine all ingredients in a food processor and pulse the mixture, (scraping down the sides often), until the mixture is chopped fine but still has some nice texture. Place the relish into a jar and store refrigerated for up to 1 week.<\/p>\n<p>Recipe by Kathy Casey Food Studios\u00ae for ANGOSTURA \u2013 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.KathyCasey.com\">www.KathyCasey.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Maple Scalloped Sweet Potatoes with Sage<\/strong><br \/>\nServes about 10 \u2013 12.<\/p>\n<p>8 cups peeled and thinly sliced (1\/4 inch) sweet potatoes (about 2 1\/2 &#8211; 3 pounds)<\/p>\n<p><u>Maple Cream<\/u><br \/>\n3 cups cream<br \/>\n1\/2 cup real maple syrup<br \/>\n1\/4 tsp. ground nutmeg<br \/>\n2 tsp. minced fresh thyme<br \/>\n1 1\/2 tsp. finely chopped fresh sage leaves<br \/>\n1 1\/2 tsp. salt<br \/>\n1\/4 tsp. ground black pepper<\/p>\n<p><u>Topping<\/u><br \/>\n1\/2 cup dry breadcrumbs<br \/>\n3 Tbsp. high-quality grated parmesan cheese<br \/>\n2 tsp. minced fresh thyme<br \/>\n1 Tbsp. minced fresh parsley<br \/>\n2 tsp. finely chopped fresh sage leaves<\/p>\n<p>fresh sage leaves for garnish<\/p>\n<p>Preheat oven to 350 degrees.<\/p>\n<p>Spray a 3-quart casserole with pan spray or lightly butter it. Then arrange sliced sweet potatoes in an even layer. In a large bowl whisk together the maple cream ingredients until well combined.
