And I\u2019ve got some great sips &#038; apps for Beast Mode-style partying!<\/p>\n<p>Did you see the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nydailynews.com\/life-style\/eats\/super-bowl-seafood-snacks-article-1.2092949\">New York Daily News<\/a> game day chef seafood smack down between Seattle and New England? Well I represented us well! We don\u2019t need Old Bay on our local seafood \u2013 yes I called that out!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nydailynews.com\/life-style\/eats\/super-bowl-seafood-snacks-article-1.2092949\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/farm8.staticflickr.com\/7354\/16218012119_0fb522b7ae_m.jpg\" width=\"227\" height=\"240\" alt=\"NY Daily News\"><\/a><br \/>\n<strong>GO HAWKS!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Start off with oh-so-Seattle <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nydailynews.com\/life-style\/eats\/super-bowl-seafood-snacks-article-1.2092949\">Seahawks Superfan Salmon Sliders<\/a>. Alaska sockeye salmon burgers on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.macrinabakery.com\/\">Macrina Bakery&#8217;<\/a>s little slider buns slathered with lemon rosemary aioli and topped with pickled onions and arugula. Score this one for flavor points!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/farm8.staticflickr.com\/7451\/16216601338_2db78be06b_m.jpg\" width=\"197\" height=\"240\" alt=\"Sliders\"><\/p>\n<p>And it&#8217;s not a party without some deviled eggs \u2013 you know how much I love these! <strong>The 12<sup>th<\/sup> Egg<\/strong> features crispy bacon, local <a href=\"http:\/\/www.beechershandmadecheese.com\/\">Beecher&#8217;s Cheese<\/a> flagship cheddar, and Dungeness crab meat. Make sure to make plenty \u2013 they&#8217;ll be flying off the plate in no time.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/farm8.staticflickr.com\/7352\/15781772044_84e02de120_m.jpg\" width=\"240\" height=\"201\" alt=\"Deviled Eggs\"><\/p>\n<p>Looking for something to quench your thirst while cheering (and maybe screaming) for the Hawks? Make my <strong>&#8220;Legion Of Boom&#8221;<\/strong> cocktail. Inspired by our heavy hitting defense, this crowd pleasing cocktail uses fresh mint, silver rum, and fresh grapefruit juice. It&#8217;s then topped off with an IPA for another great flavor hit. BOOM!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/farm9.staticflickr.com\/8632\/16216837570_4aba67bcd7_m.jpg\" width=\"229\" height=\"240\" alt=\"Boom\"><\/p>\n<p>Celebrate in true 12<sup>th<\/sup> Man style with these recipes and GO HAWKS! \u2013Kathy<\/p>\n<p><strong>The 12<sup>th<\/sup> Egg &#8211; Bacon Cheddar Crab Deviled Eggs<\/strong><br \/>\nEggs, bacon, cheese \u2026 they go hand in hand. Top with Northwest Dungeness Crab to celebrate the game day 12<sup>th<\/sup> Man Style! <\/p>\n<p>Makes 24<\/p>\n<p>1 dozen hard-cooked eggs (recipe follows)<\/p>\n<p>Filling<br \/>\n3 Tbsp. mayonnaise<br \/>\n3 Tbsp. sour cream<br \/>\n1\/2 tsp. Dijon mustard (optional)<br \/>\n1 tsp. minced fresh garlic<br \/>\n1\/4 tsp. salt<br \/>\n1\/8 tsp. freshly ground black pepper<br \/>\n1\/3 cup finely grated sharp cheddar cheese, such as Seattle <a href=\"http:\/\/www.beechershandmadecheese.com\/\">Beecher\u2019s Cheese<\/a> \u2013 Flagship Cheddar<\/p>\n<p>Topping<br \/>\n1\/4 cup finely chopped crisp-cooked bacon<br \/>\n2 Tbsp. very thinly sliced green onion<br \/>\n4 oz wt. Dungeness crab meat (or substitute Alaska King crab)<br \/>\nFreshly ground black pepper<\/p>\n<p>Halve the eggs lengthwise and transfer the yolks to a mixing bowl. Set the egg white halves on a platter, cover, and refrigerate.<\/p>\n<p>With a fork, mash the yolks to a smooth consistency. Add the mayonnaise, sour cream, mustard, if using, garlic, salt, and pepper, and mix until smooth. (You can also do this in a mixing bowl with a whip attachment.) Stir in the cheddar until evenly mixed in.<\/p>\n<p>Spoon the mixture into a pastry bag fitted with a large plain tip, then pipe the mixture evenly into the egg white halves. Or fill the eggs with a spoon, dividing the filling evenly.<\/p>\n<p>To make the topping, in a small bowl, mix the bacon, green onion and crab. Divide topping among the eggs. <\/p>\n<p>Hard-Cooked Eggs<br \/>\n1 dozen large chicken eggs<\/p>\n<p>Place the eggs in a large nonreactive saucepan and add cold water to 1 inch above the eggs. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Turn off the heat and let the eggs sit for 10 minutes. Remove from the stove and run cool water over the eggs in the pan until they are cooled. When cool, carefully peel them under running water. <\/p>\n<p>Recipe adapted from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/DLish-Deviled-Eggs-Collection-Creative\/dp\/1449427502\">D\u2019Lish Deviled Eggs<\/a> by Kathy Casey<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cLegion Of Boom\u201d<\/strong><br \/>\nBring the boom with the perfect play between grapefruit and IPA in this game day cocktail.<\/p>\n<p>Makes 1 cocktail<\/p>\n<p>2 mint sprigs<br \/>\n1 oz Bacardi silver rum<br \/>\n2 oz fresh squeezed Sunkist\u00ae grapefruit juice<br \/>\n1 oz simple syrup*<br \/>\n&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<br \/>\n3 oz <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pikebrewing.com\/\">Pike Brewery IPA<\/a><br \/>\nGarnish: grapefruit slice and mint spring<\/p>\n<p>Measure the Sunkist\u00ae grapefruit juice, simple syrup and rum into a cocktail shaker. Tear the mint sprigs and drop in. Fill with ice, cap and shake. Pour cocktail into a tall glass. Add IPA and stir. Garnish with grapefruit and mint.<\/p>\n<p>*To make Simple Syrup: combine 1 cup boiling water with 1 cup sugar. Stir until sugar is completely dissolved.
